Around 1 million plastic bottles are discarded every day in Bali so we want to be part of the solution not the problem. Accordingly, we have strict environmental standards.
NO PLASTIC: We will not provide drinking water in plastic bottles but in a water jug. Please note this is 100 percent safe to drink, in fact the water comes from the same source as what you drink from in the plastic bottles. We also do not use plastic straws.
WE BUY LOCAL: All the vegetables and meat you have at lunch or dinner is sourced locally and in many cases organic produce where possible.
NO PALM OIL: Palm Oil plantations are causing massive destruction of the primary forests in Borneo, Papua and other parts of Indonesia and negatively impacting the lives of many indigenous cultures. We use alternatives to Palm Oil in our cooking, that are far less destructive.
NO MSG: We do use MSG in our cooking as we believe it is bad for your health.
In Indonesia, we support cultural preservation projects, educational literacy in remote villages, indigenous films as a way to educate people, indigenous film makers, Indigenous story telling programs, a Dayak dance academy from Borneo and environmental preservation programs.
